Lomi, Coffee house and roastery in Paris, France
Lomi is a café and roastery in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, not far from the Gare du Nord train station. The interior feels like a warehouse, with concrete walls, wooden floors, a bar at the front, and roasting equipment visible in the back.
The café was founded in 2010 by Aleaume Paturle, who goes by the name Lomi. He later moved it to a larger space near the train tracks leading to the Gare du Nord.
Lomi is known for its Australian approach to roasting, which is unusual in Paris. This style aims to keep the natural flavors of the beans, and it draws coffee lovers who want something different from the typical French café.
The café is a short walk from the nearest metro station and sits in a neighborhood of small streets and older buildings. Once inside, large sofas and tables make it easy to settle in for a while, whether you are working or just passing time.
One of the more surprising things on the menu at Lomi is a blue-cheese coffee, which combines melted cheese with a strong espresso. The café also runs weekend workshops where visitors can learn to brew coffee or explore different tasting notes in a hands-on setting.
