Confiserie Kubli Paris France, Confectionery store in Morangis, France
Confiserie Kubli Paris France is a candy shop and small production workshop in Morangis, a town south of Paris. The shop carries more than eighty different candy shapes, ranging from sugar sticks and nougat to fruit slices and filled sweets.
Jacques Kubli, a Swiss immigrant, founded the shop in the early 1900s in the 13th district of Paris. When that neighborhood was rebuilt during the 1960s and 1970s, the family moved the business to Morangis in 1974.
Kubli makes candies using old French recipes, including berlingots, violet-shaped drops, and poppy flower pieces. Many of these forms are cast in bronze molds that have been in use for decades.
The shop is located in an industrial area of Morangis and is most easily reached by car. When you visit, it is worth taking your time to browse the full range, as the selection is wide and some products sell out quickly.
Many of Kubli's candies are sold without the shop's name on the package, because they end up as fillings or ingredients inside products from other well-known brands, including Ladurée macarons. The work behind the candy is often invisible to the person eating it.
