Porto Belo Flea Market, Marketplace in Vitória, Porto, Portugal
The Porto Belo Flea Market is an outdoor marketplace held in Praça Carlos Alberto, in the Vitória district of Porto, Portugal. The stalls line the square and offer second-hand clothing, old books, vintage toys, jewelry, and handmade objects.
The market was inspired by the famous Portobello Market in London, borrowing its spirit of browsing for second-hand finds in the open air. Over time, it became a regular gathering point in the Vitória district, keeping alive a local tradition of trade and exchange.
The market runs on Saturdays and is best visited from late morning, when most stalls are set up and the square is lively. It is easy to reach on foot from the city center, and nearby cafes offer a good spot to rest after browsing.
Although the market takes its name and inspiration from a London original, many of its vendors are local craftspeople selling objects they made themselves, not just second-hand goods. This mix of handmade and vintage items side by side on the same square sets it apart from a typical flea market.
