The Magic Faucet, Sculpture in La Serpentona, Spain
Le Robinet Magique is an outdoor metal sculpture in the La Serpentona neighborhood in Spain, shaped like an oversized faucet. It stands on a public open space and can be approached from all sides.
The sculpture was installed as part of a project to bring art out of galleries and into everyday public spaces. Since then it has become a fixed part of the streetscape of La Serpentona.
Le Robinet Magique is a metal faucet designed to look as if it floats in mid-air, with no pipe or wall behind it. Children often walk up and try to turn it, treating it as if it were real.
The sculpture is outdoors and freely accessible at any time, with no entry fee or set opening hours. La Serpentona is easy to explore on foot, and the sculpture fits naturally into a walk through the area.
Although the piece looks like an ordinary water tap, it has no connection to any water supply, which creates the feeling that water could flow from nothing. This detail is often the first thing visitors say out loud when they step closer.
