Villeneuve Beach, Public beach on Lake Geneva in Villeneuve, Switzerland

Plage de Villeneuve, also known as Parc les Marines, is a public beach on the shore of Lake Geneva in the town of Villeneuve, in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. The beach is made of pebbles, bordered to the north by the town swimming pool and to the south by the Tinière stream.

Villeneuve was an important medieval port on Lake Geneva, used to move goods between the Valais and the rest of Switzerland. The waterfront where the beach now sits served for a long time as a landing area for boats before it gradually became a leisure space for locals.

The name «Parc les Marines» refers to the area's old ties to lake navigation and the boats that once docked along this shore. Today the spot draws families and swimmers who spread out on the grassy area behind the pebble beach and watch the water go by.

Entry is free and the beach is open at all times. Visitors who plan to walk on the pebbles should bring water shoes, as the stones can be uneven underfoot.

The Tinière stream, which marks the southern edge of the beach, originates in the pre-Alps and flows directly into Lake Geneva at this spot. On warm days, the stream water is noticeably cooler than the lake, creating a sharp contrast if you wade near the mouth.
