Parc du lac de Tirana is a large city park in Tirana, Albania, built around an artificial lake at its center. Wide paths run along the water, and the grounds also include a zoo, a botanical garden, open lawns, playgrounds, and outdoor cafes along the lakeshore.
The park was created in the 1950s on land that had previously been used as stables, and its layout followed plans drawn up in Bulgaria. The artificial lake was formed by building a dam with the help of volunteers who channeled local water sources.
Inside the park stands a small church called St. Procopius, and an open-air amphitheater hosts shows and concerts during summer. These spaces give the park a character that goes beyond a simple green area.
The park is easy to reach on foot, by bike, or by bus from central Tirana, and the main entrances are clearly marked. It is open all year and free to enter, with lighting along the main paths in the evening for safety.
Near the lake stands a Holocaust memorial inaugurated in 2020, honoring Albanians who sheltered Jewish people during World War II. The inscriptions on the memorial are written in Albanian, Hebrew, and English.
