Grand Park of Tirana, Urban park in Tirana, Albania
The Grand Park extends across 289 hectares, featuring an artificial lake, walking trails, and recreational spaces surrounded by diverse plant species.
The park construction started in 1955 following a Bulgarian design plan, transforming an area formerly known as Gogo stable into a public recreation space.
Multiple memorials within the park honor British, Australian, and German soldiers from World War II, along with the tombs of prominent Albanian figures.
The park includes multiple entrances, restroom facilities, parking areas, and various cafes offering refreshments throughout its extensive grounds.
The artificial lake resulted from volunteer efforts in 1955 to construct a dam that manages water flow into Tirana, creating a water recreation area.
