Plage du Midi is a public sand beach on the western edge of Cannes city center, on the French Riviera. It runs along Boulevard du Midi and is divided into public sections and private beach clubs, with fine sand and a gentle slope into the sea.
The beach was long a modest stretch of coast at the edge of Cannes before the town became a resort destination during the 20th century. As tourism grew, private beach clubs gradually appeared alongside the public sections that remain today.
The beach draws mostly local families rather than the celebrity crowd often linked to Cannes, giving it a more everyday feel. Beach clubs along the sand serve seafood and Mediterranean food right at the water's edge, where guests eat with a view of the bay.
The beach is within walking distance of central Cannes and well served by bus along the seafront. Visiting in the early morning or late afternoon helps avoid the busiest hours and cooler air makes the walk more comfortable.
Just to the east of the beach sits a small jetty called L'Estacade, which offers an open view over the sea and the city skyline. A short walk to the west, a rocky formation known as Rochers du Coke is a good spot for snorkeling and looking at marine life up close.
