Namhae Treasure Island Observatory & Skywalk is a coastal lookout point built on a clifftop on the southern tip of South Korea. The structure is shaped like a lighthouse and includes a glass-floored walkway that extends out over the sea.
Namhae has long been known as South Korea's treasure island, a name tied to the sea-based life that sustained generations of fishing communities here. The observatory was built to give visitors a way to experience that coastal setting from above.
The path to the skywalk entrance is gentle and works for most visitors, including families with young children. Having a car makes it much easier to reach the site, as bus services on the island are limited.
The building has a rooftop garden on the third floor where you can watch ships pass on the open sea on a clear day. A cafe on the second floor also faces the water, so the views continue even after coming in from the glass walkway.
