Sinseondae Cliff, Cliff and proposal spot in Geoje-si, South Korea

Sinseondae Cliff is a sea cliff on Geoje Island in South Korea, where the rock face drops sharply down to the water below. From the top, the view opens wide over the ocean, with layers of stone visible along the sides where wind and waves have shaped the rock over time.

The cliff was used as a lookout point by sailors and fishermen who navigated the coast of Geoje. This connection to the sea and to the island's fishing communities is part of what shaped the place's local reputation over time.

The cliff is a known proposal spot, and couples visit it to mark important moments in their lives. Some leave small tokens or notes behind, giving the place a personal layer that goes beyond the view.

The wind at the top can be strong, so sturdy footwear and care near the edge are advised, especially on rough weather days. Safety fences are in place, but extra caution is recommended when visiting with children or when taking photos close to the edge.

On clear days, ships and fishing boats passing through the strait can be spotted from the top, much as lookouts would have watched from here in the past. The late afternoon light gives the stone a warm color that makes the cliffside look quite different from how it appears at midday.
