Havířov is a city in Karviná District in the Czech Republic, comprising several districts such as Město, Podlesí, and Šumbark. It sits along the Lucina River at an elevation of around 260 meters.
The city was formed in 1955 from several existing villages to support the coal mining industry. It stands as the most recently established city in the Czech Republic.
