Rokycany, Historic town center in Rokycany, Czech Republic.
Rokycany is a town in the Rokycany District comprising four distinct neighborhoods - Střed, Nové Město, Plzeňské Předměstí, and the village of Borek. The town spreads across rolling terrain and serves as the administrative center for the surrounding region.
Rokycany first appears in written records in 1110 in the Chronica Boemorum, when the Bishop of Prague controlled the settlement. The town later developed into a market center and gained town privileges.
The Baroque town hall and the Church of Our Lady of the Snows shape how the community gathers and celebrates together. These buildings in the center show how residents have organized their civic and spiritual life around shared spaces.
The railway station provides direct connections to Prague and Klatovy, making it the main gateway for visitors. Once in town, you can walk through the center and reach key sites without difficulty.
Every July, Fluff Fest takes place here, a vegan hardcore punk festival that draws thousands of visitors from across Europe. This unusual event has turned the town into a gathering point for an international music community.
