Fortress Dobrošov

Fortress Dobrošov is an artillery complex in the Czech Republic consisting of interconnected bunkers designed to work as a single defensive unit. The site includes three main structures: the Zeleny artillery bunker and two infantry bunkers called Mustek and Jerab, each serving distinct operational roles within the system.

Construction started in 1937 as part of Czechoslovakia's defense strategy during a time of growing tensions in Europe. The project was halted in 1938 following the Munich Agreement, when political circumstances changed dramatically.

The site reflects how people prepared to defend their country during a tense period in European history, with preserved details showing military life and defensive strategies of that era. Walking through, you see how soldiers would have operated the equipment and responded to threats.

Wear comfortable shoes since the visit involves uneven terrain and descending into underground spaces within the bunkers. Plan to spend enough time here to explore the different sections and consider a guided tour to better understand how the facility operated.

The fort houses a rare collection of detailed miniature figures depicting soldiers of the pre-World War II Czechoslovak Army, found nowhere else in Europe. This unusual collection offers insight into the uniforms, equipment, and military structures of that era.
