Lovoš, Summit in Bohemian Central Mountains, Czech Republic
Lobosch is a mountain in the Bohemian Central Mountains featuring two distinct peaks called Malý Lovoš and Velký Lovoš that reach about 570 meters (1,870 feet). The twin summits sit near the town of Lovosice and shape the surrounding landscape noticeably.
A stone lookout tower was built on the summit in 1892 and served temporarily as an observation post during World War II. The structure has shaped the mountain's appearance ever since.
The mountain lodge on the summit was built in 1924 by Jan Nepomuk Schwarzenberg and now serves as a restaurant and guesthouse. It has become a gathering place where visitors meet and share meals while enjoying the surrounding landscape.
Several hiking trails reach the summit from Lovosice, Opárno village, and Košťálov with some steep sections along the way. The mountain lodge offers a good resting point after climbing.
From the tower, the Elbe Valley, Píšťany Lake, and several mountain peaks including distant Hazmburk Castle come into view. This panorama makes the journey worthwhile for many visitors.
