Ferdinandsko

Ferdinandsko is a château with Baroque architectural features in the Vojenský újezd Březina military area, displaying rounded towers, multiple gates, and vaulted ceilings throughout its stone structure. The layout includes spacious rooms with decorated interiors and distinct functional areas that reveal how its aristocratic occupants organized their daily spaces.

The structure began as a Gothic castle in the 13th century and passed through the hands of several important aristocratic families in Bohemia. Major reconstruction work in the late 1800s transformed its appearance and brought the building into line with modern needs of its new owners.

The building displays collections of hunting trophies and religious statues scattered throughout its rooms, reflecting the interests of those who once lived here. These objects reveal how the aristocratic owners spent their time and what they valued during their stay.

This building is not currently open to visitors and is managed by a heritage conservation organization. You can view the exterior architecture and surroundings from outside the property while exploring the military area where it is located.

The building received central heating and electric lighting during its modernization in the late 1800s, making it more advanced than most structures in the region at that time. This early adoption of modern technology reflects the wealth and forward-thinking approach of its owners.
