Kozí vrch, Mountain summit in České středohoří, Czech Republic
Kozí vrch is a mountain summit in the Ústí nad Labem region that rises with rocky slopes and green vegetation across its terrain. The hill offers hiking trails and climbing routes for visitors of varying skill levels.
The hill contains remains of a stone quarry from the 18th century on its western slope, showing evidence of past extraction work. This activity shaped the geological structure and current appearance of the site.
The name means Goat Hill, referring to its historical use as pasture land for grazing animals. Today the slopes are home to rare plants and animals that shape how visitors experience the landscape.
The route to the summit starts from Neštědice railway station and follows a marked green hiking trail that takes about two kilometers. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear as the path crosses rocky and uneven ground.
In spring and summer climbing routes may be temporarily closed to protect nesting peregrine falcons from disturbance. Visitors often spot these rare birds soaring above the slopes when conditions allow.
