South Moravian Museum in Znojmo

The South Moravian Museum in Znojmo occupies a former monastery and castle complex that now contains collections of natural history, geology, zoology, and art history. Archaeological discoveries from the region are displayed throughout the various exhibition spaces.

The museum was founded in 1878 and expanded to Znojmo Castle in 1910 to accommodate growing collections. It has managed the Rotunda of Virgin Mary since 1920 as part of its responsibilities.
