Kozubová, Mountain summit in Moravian-Silesian Beskids, Czech Republic.
Kozubová is a mountain summit in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids that rises to 981 meters and marks a natural boundary point between three municipalities. The communities of Milíkov, Košařiska, and Dolní Lomná meet at this location.
A Chapel of Saint Anne was built on the summit in 1937 from local Beskid sandstone and became a focal point for visitors. This structure has remained on the mountain and shaped its character since then.
The name Kozubová comes from a shepherd named Kozub who once guided flocks across these slopes. Local communities still connect the mountain to this pastoral heritage.
Several marked hiking trails lead to the summit from villages at the base, with the most accessible routes starting from Bocanovice through wooded paths. Proper footwear and time to pace yourself are helpful since the terrain slopes upward.
A mountain hut on the peak was rebuilt in 1986 after the original 1929 structure was destroyed by fire. The fire started due to a chimney accident and remains a notable event in the mountain's story.
