Borůvková hora observation tower, Observation tower in Javorník, Czech Republic.
Borůvková hora observation tower is a 25-meter metal and wood structure standing on the mountain of the same name, providing views of Otmuchów lakes, Nysa lakes, and mountain ranges in the region. The tower includes a shelter for protection during unfavorable weather and is accessible from the town of Javorník via clearly marked paths.
The first wooden tower at this site was built in the 1870s by the Landek Spa administration near the borders of Prussia and Austria-Hungary. After previous wooden structures lasted less than ten years, the current metal framework with wooden cladding was designed as a more durable solution.
The tower continues a regional tradition of mountaintop observation points, connecting visitors to both Czech and Polish landscapes across national boundaries.
The path to the tower is well maintained and clearly marked from the center of Javorník, making the walk straightforward. The shelter at the top provides protection from the elements, and the site is accessible year-round with the clearest views occurring on fair weather days.
The structure combines a metal framework with wooden cladding, a design choice made after durability problems with all-wooden towers. Visitors encounter a hybrid construction that joins structural strength with the classic look of a mountain observation point.
