The episcopal residence features four wings surrounding a rectangular courtyard with a seven-axis facade facing the main square of Hradec Králové.
Construction began in 1715 under Bishop Jan Adam Vratislav of Mitrovice, following plans by architect Jan Blazej Santini-Aichel, with completion in 1719.
The private chapel in the southeastern corner contains a flattened dome and decorative elements characteristic of Santini's architectural signature.
The residence currently serves as the administrative headquarters of the Diocese of Hradec Králové and maintains regular office hours for ecclesiastical matters.
The eastern arcade leads through a staircase to the residential garden, marked by two double-story projections and a triangular pediment.
