Zoopark Vyškov is a zoo in Vyškov, South Moravian Region, Czech Republic, covering 7 hectares and keeping 520 animals in 142 species or breeds, mainly domestic and farm animals from around the world. Its grounds include a replica Haná farmstead from the turn of the 20th century and a DinoPark, with which it has been combined since 2006.
The zoo began in 1965 as a small facility near Vyškov castle and was enlarged in 2006 when new enclosures for animals from Africa, Asia, and South America were added. This expansion transformed the original small collection into a larger operation with an international scope.
The 'Grandma's Yard' section displays traditional farm animals and invites visitors to interact with them directly. This area shows how rural life worked and how people lived alongside these animals.
The zoo covers 7 hectares and is a member of the Union of Czech and Slovak Zoological Gardens. The site is flat and largely barrier-free, with many fences and bars removed so visitors can see the animals directly. The entrance area has a large car park, a souvenir shop and toilets, and a new road leads to the zoo from the Lidl junction.
The 'Under the Surface' section, which opened in 2018, features underground viewing stations where visitors can watch freshwater fish like carp, sturgeon, and perch. This hidden element offers an unusual perspective on aquatic life and water habitats.
