Miniature park Miniuni, European miniature model park in Ostrava, Czech Republic

Miniature park Miniuni is an amusement park in Ostrava featuring more than 30 detailed models of European buildings built at a scale of 1:25. These replicas include cathedrals, town halls, and other structures from various regions across the continent.

Miniuni was created in 2004 on the Černá louka exhibition grounds; a year later the city of Ostrava took over the miniature world. The area was liquidated in 2020, after the park had closed on 16 December 2018 and its exhibits were dismantled or sold. The site is now occupied by the City Campus of the University of Ostrava.

The park's name, Miniuni, combined 'mini' with 'uni' for Europe's union of nations. Its 1:25 models ranged from Prague's Old Town Hall to the Eiffel Tower, and in 2005 it added the seven wonders of the ancient world. A miniature railway ran between the models, and model ships sailed the pond and canals in summer.

The park closed permanently on 16 December 2018 and will not reopen; all exhibits were dismantled or sold. The 1.5-hectare site on the Černá louka exhibition grounds now holds the City Campus of the University of Ostrava, so there is nothing left to visit.

Miniature trains travel on small tracks connecting the models, while model boats navigate canals and a lake during summer months. These moving features bring an interactive quality to the landscape.
