U Hybernů

U Hybernů is a theatre building in Empire style located in Prague's New Town, featuring detailed sculptural decorations by František Xaver Lederer on its exterior walls. The architecture combines classical formal language with rich ornamental details.

The site was originally a Benedictine monastery in 1348 and was taken over by Irish Franciscans in 1630, who built a church between 1641 and 1654. Later conversion to theatre use marked a significant shift in the building's purpose.

The theatre draws local and international performers and shapes cultural life in the neighborhood through diverse programming. Visitors experience daily performances ranging from musicals to concerts and dramatic productions.
