Cimburk, Gothic castle ruins near Koryčany, Czech Republic
The stone fortification stands at 421 meters above sea level, featuring remaining walls and towers in the Chřiby mountain range.
The castle, built between 1330 and 1340 by Bernhard von Cimburg, served as a strategic point at the intersection of transport routes.
The Polypeje Society maintains the medieval structure through preservation work and organizes educational events about regional architecture.
Visitors can explore the castle ruins daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM during summer months and from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM in winter.
The castle structure includes a double-towered bergfried, displaying architectural elements typical of 14th-century fortification design.
