Trnávka Reservoir, Czech reservoir

Trnávka Reservoir, also called Želiv Reservoir, is a dam reservoir on the Trnava River between Želiv and Červená Řečice in the Pelhřimov district. Its 200 m long dam stands at river kilometre 1.5; a slalom course over 500 m long with a 9 m drop lies below the dam.

Trnávka Reservoir was built between 1977 and 1981 on the Trnava river, its 200 m dam standing at the river's 1.5 km mark. Its main purpose was to trap sediment that would otherwise pollute the Želivka-Švihov water-supply reservoir downstream. In 1997 a small hydroelectric plant with two Bánki turbines and an installed output of 165 kW was added in the connecting corridor of the combined structure.

The dam stands at river kilometre 1.5 of the Trnava, and below it a slalom course over 500 m long with a 9 m drop is used by paddlers. Since 2023 water quality has been monitored at the town beach in Červená Řečice; bathing is banned only when the water fails hygiene limits.
