Fata Morgana Greenhouse

The Fata Morgana Greenhouse is a modern facility in Prague-Troja that holds three separate climate zones filled with plants from tropical regions around the world. The greenhouse opened in 2004 as part of the Prague Botanical Garden, which was established in 1969. It was created to protect and study plants from around the world.

The name references the Fata Morgana optical effect, evoking distant, otherworldly places. The spaces are arranged to create a sense of stepping into faraway lands while remaining in Prague.

The pathways lead through different sections designed with special lighting and water features to make the walk comfortable. Visitors should allow time to adjust as they move through the varying climate zones.

Inside, real tropical sounds of rain and thunder play throughout, deepening the illusion of visiting a distant place. These audio effects change within each climate zone, making every corner feel immersive.
