Augustinian monastery in Vrchlabí

The Augustinian monastery in Vrchlabí is a monastic complex in Bohemia featuring a church with notable Baroque characteristics and decorated with valuable artworks inside. The stone buildings were designed to create a unified religious space where the altar, ceiling paintings, and architectural details work together as a cohesive whole.

The Morzin family initiated construction of this complex in the early 1700s when Baroque monasteries were rising across the region. An Austrian master builder directed the project over the course of about two decades until the structures took their present form.
