Zámecká kaple Morzinů

The Morzin Castle Chapel is a Neo-Gothic structure in Vrchlabí situated on an elevated stone terrace accessed by twin staircases. The building displays pointed arches and decorated portals that reflect its noble origins.

The chapel was built between 1887 and 1891 following architect Štěpán Tragl's design for the local noble family. It contains the tombs of Czernin-Morzin family members who held power in the region.

The chapel has served the Czechoslovak Hussite Church community since 1947 as a place of worship. It remains an active religious center where local residents gather for prayer and ceremonies throughout the year.

The chapel is accessible through the town park and sits on easily reached ground. Regular Sunday services and religious ceremonies take place throughout the year and are open to visitors.

The entrance portal displays a stone relief coat of arms that combines the Czernin and Morzin family crests. This sculptural piece documents the union of these two powerful noble families in lasting stone.
