Colonnade on Reisten, Gloriette in Valtice, Czech Republic
The Colonnade on Reisten is a classical structure of arranged columns with a roof set on the Homole Hill overlooking Valtice Castle. The building follows a neoclassical design with evenly spaced supports that frame the surrounding landscape.
The structure was built in the early 19th century as part of the Lednice-Valtice landscape redesign under the Liechtenstein family's rule. It formed one piece of a larger vision to enhance the princely estates with refined architectural additions.
