Ναός Γενεσίου της Θεοτόκου

The Church of Nativity of Mary is a baroque church at Vranov Monastery with three aisles built from stone. Inside, ornate frescoes, carved stone details, and a wooden iconostasis with traditional religious imagery decorate the interior spaces.

The building began in the 15th century and underwent major changes in the early 18th century. These renovations created the current three-aisle basilica with its baroque style.

The church shows two separate sections divided by stone arches, each dedicated to different saints and purposes. This layout reflects how the space was designed to serve different spiritual needs of worshippers.

The church can be explored easily on foot and maintains regular hours for visitors. It helps to check ahead whether access might be limited during services or special religious observances.

The wooden iconostasis inside displays traditional religious images such as Virgin Mary and Christ Blessing. These elements are uncommon in Czech church interiors and show a blend of Orthodox and local artistic traditions.
