Church of All Saints, church in Vsetín District of Zlín region
The Church of All Saints is a stone building from the mid-1700s that replaced an earlier wooden structure. The church has a simple shape with a prominent tower, solid brick walls covered in plaster, and a layout that includes a large central altar decorated with religious paintings.
A small church first stood on this site before 1267, when the town itself was founded. The current baroque building was constructed between 1748 and 1752 and has maintained its outer appearance since completion, though the interior has been updated several times.
The church stands at the heart of the town and is a familiar sight for local residents. It serves as a gathering place for religious holidays and community celebrations, where people come together to pray and mark important moments in their lives.
The church is located on Nádražní Street in the town center and is easy to find with its tall tower. It is open to visitors and offers a quiet space for reflection while exploring the baroque architecture and interior details.
In 1923, a plane piloted by local aviator Karel Tkadlec crashed near the old cemetery beside the church during an acrobatic flight. The crash site remains visible today and is documented in photographs from the era, marking an unusual moment in the town's past.
