Kurzova rozhledna

The steel structure reaches 19.2 meters into the sky, providing visitors with views across multiple regions of the Czech countryside and distant hills.

Built in the late 19th century, the tower replaced an original wooden structure that stood for only a brief period before safety concerns led to its demolition.

The tower bears the name of Dr. Vilem Kurz, a local figure who initiated its construction but passed away before the completion in 1905.

Visitors can access the tower via a 4-kilometer marked trail from Capartice parking area, climbing 320 meters in elevation during the approach.

During World War II, the German army repurposed this civilian observation point into a military watchtower, altering its primary function temporarily.
