Church of Saint James in Kutná Hora, Gothic church building in Kutná Hora, Czech Republic
The Church of Saint James spans 55 meters in length and 24 meters in width, with a north tower reaching 84 meters into the sky.
Construction began in the 1330s with funding from Italian Court coiners and minters, leading to the first service in the presbytery in 1356.
The church contains Gothic choir benches from 1480, a Holy Trinity painting from 1734, and the Beheading of St. Jacob painting from 1752.
Visitor numbers reached 40,493 in 2022, with the church maintaining regular services while functioning as both a religious center and tourist destination.
Two organs grace the interior: a rare baroque instrument from the late 1600s and the largest organ in Kutná Hora from the early 1900s.
