Zámek Křinec

Křinec Castle is a three-winged Baroque structure with 122 rooms, including a grand stone hall decorated with intricate stucco work and a chapel dedicated to Saint Mary. The interior spaces display the formal arrangements and original furnishings that characterize residences of the 17th century.

The castle was built in 1649 by Count August Pavel I of Morzin, replacing a medieval fortress that had occupied the site since the 14th century. This construction marked the shift from a defensive military structure to a grand residence for the nobility.

The Blue Salons display Rococo frescoes created by Dutch and Italian masters, with patterns inspired by Delft pottery and European traditional designs. Visitors can observe how these painted walls reflect the tastes and wealth of the nobles who once lived here.

The castle is open to visitors from Tuesday through Sunday with guided tours available to explore the interior spaces. It is advisable to check current opening times and conditions ahead of your visit, as these may vary depending on the season.

The current owner maintains an extensive collection of French Art Deco posters displayed throughout the castle's rooms. This modern art collection creates an interesting contrast with the historic Baroque elements and shows how the space continues to evolve over time.
