ParaZOO, Wildlife rehabilitation center with zoo exhibits in Vlašim, Czech Republic
ParaZOO is a wildlife rescue center in Vlašim with enclosures for injured native species including otters, owls, ravens, and birds of prey. These animals cannot be released back into the wild and live permanently at this location.
The center was founded in 2012 by a wildlife rescue station to care for injured animals. Since then it has grown into a place where visitors learn about how human activities affect wildlife.
The facility was specifically designed to house injured animals while teaching visitors about wildlife protection and prevention of injuries in natural settings. The exhibits show how people can help reduce harm to animals and the role such places play in caring for local species.
The center is open Tuesday through Sunday, mainly during warmer months. Plan to spend time walking through the different enclosures at a relaxed pace.
The otter enclosure features an underground glass viewing area where you can watch the animals swim and play. The resident pair Fousek and Kapka often display their natural underwater behaviors.
