The former parish house in Liteň is a single-storey building with a courtyard, farm buildings and an enclosing wall, standing in Sady Svatopluka Čecha west of the chateau gate and south of the church of St Peter and Paul. Its plain, utilitarian appearance recalls Austro-Hungarian railway station architecture. Since 2004 it has housed the Museum of Svatopluk Čech and Jarmila Novotná.

The original parish house stood west of the church of Sts Peter and Paul and burned with the church in the Swedish raid of 1639; it was never rebuilt. The present single-storey building was erected from 30 June 1889 to April 1890 with money from estate owner Josef Šebestián Daubek, and the parish priest moved in on 24 April 1890. A barn and cowshed were added in the courtyard in 1892, and the former rectory with its boundary wall has been a listed cultural monument since 3 May 1958.

Since 5 June 2004 the former rectory has housed the Museum of Svatopluk Čech and Jarmila Novotná, continuing an exhibition held in Čechovna from 1964 to 2001. Its three sections cover the singer Jarmila Novotná, the history of the Liteň estate and castle, and other figures linked to the village, including the writer Svatopluk Čech, who lived here in 1852–1856 and whose collection Ve stínu lípy was inspired by Liteň.

The museum in the former rectory opens year-round on weekends and public holidays from 10:00 to 17:00. The building stands in Sady Svatopluka Čecha, west of the chateau gate and south of the church of Sts Peter and Paul, with the former barn and cowshed in the courtyard reached through a gate in the western boundary wall.

The museum opened on 5 June 2004 in the former parish house, succeeding an earlier Svatopluk Čech exhibition held in Čechovna from 1964 to 2001. It stands a few metres from the vanished Svatopluk Čech Lime Tree, beneath which, in his collection Ve stínu lípy, neighbours meet and talk.
