Naučná stezka Liteň, Educational trail in Liteň, Czech Republic

Naučná stezka Liteň is an educational trail that winds through natural landscapes and features informational panels throughout its course. These panels explain regional ecosystems, local environmental characteristics, and important natural features you encounter along the way.

The trail was created in 2013 by Atelier Svatopluk, a non-profit founded by the town of Liteň, with a grant of 994,806 CZK from the State Agricultural Intervention Fund; total costs reached 1,048,100.79 CZK. Local volunteers gathered documents and period photographs, and in 2012–2013 the area was photographed in detail. Panels were made and installed by Vladimír Glaser's firm between June and October 2013.

The route connects you with the region by sharing information at different stops about local plant species and historic structures like an old chapel. This way, you discover the natural and architectural character of the area as you walk.

Four colour-coded loops (A green, B yellow, C blue, D red) all start at the granary on Liteň's Náměstí, where panel 0 stands. Metal direction signs mark the routes, some running alongside KČT hiking trails; benches and gravel-surfaced stops sit at each panel, and the Areál Liteň, Pískovna and Babka stops have children's playgrounds.

The trail's four loops are marked only by colour on the metal signposts, without letters, so walkers must match green, yellow, blue or red to the route. Stops A, B, C and D each carry numbered panels, and benches with gravel surfacing stand at every stop.
