Lipno Treetop Walkway, Wooden observation tower in Lipno nad Vltavou, Czech Republic
The Lipno Treetop Walkway is an elevated wooden path through a mixed forest that stretches for about 675 meters and is supported by 75 wooden pillars. The route has transparent side netting to protect visitors as they walk among the forest canopy.
This elevated forest path was completed in 2012 and was the first treetop walkway in the Czech Republic at that time. The project was created to give visitors a new way to experience nature.
The walkway displays information about forest birds and wildlife through wooden sculptures, information boards, and nest models that visitors encounter while walking. These stations help people learn about the local animal life as they move through the canopy.
The entire path is easy to walk for visitors with limited mobility and has no steep slopes. A chairlift and shuttle bus bring visitors to the entrance if walking there would be difficult.
At the end of the walkway is a 52-meter dry slide that runs through the observation tower structure and offers a fast alternative to walking down. This slide turns the descent into its own adventure and surprises many visitors.
