Sedlo, Observation tower in Sušice, Czech Republic.
Sedlo is a steel observation tower rising 28 meters high, located at 902 meters elevation in the Sumava mountains. The structure provides a viewing platform accessed by climbing multiple sets of stairs.
The tower was built in 2009 and added to the network of observation points across the Bohemian Forest region. The project helped expand access to viewing spots for visitors exploring the surrounding mountains.
The tower shows how villages and farms are arranged across the border area between the Czech Republic and Germany. You can observe from above how the landscape and settlement patterns vary on each side.
You can visit throughout the year, but be prepared for stairs when heading to the viewing platform. Wear sturdy shoes and expect stronger winds at the top, especially during weather changes.
On clear days, you can see both the peaks of Sumava National Park and the Bavarian Forest from the platform. This cross-border view lets you take in two different forest regions in one look.
