Fritscheho arboretum, Arboretum in Sněžná, Krásná Lípa, Czech Republic.
Fritscheho Arboretum is a botanical garden laid out along a stream with organized collections of rhododendrons, azaleas, and ornamental trees throughout distinct planted sections. Small ponds are integrated into the design to follow the water flow across the grounds.
Vítězslav Fritsche founded this botanical collection in the 1960s as a personal private garden. The site later transitioned to public access and became an educational resource for the wider community.
The site serves as a living laboratory where local plant communities are preserved and displayed for visitors to experience directly. People come to see how different tree species coexist in natural conditions and learn from the garden's arrangement.
The site is most easily reached by car with parking available at the entrance. Visitors arriving by train can use Zahrady station and complete the journey on foot from there.
The garden displays dramatic seasonal color shifts throughout the year, with spring dominated by rhododendron blooms and autumn transformed by intense foliage colors. This natural rhythm offers something visually different with each season.
