Nové Hrady Castle

Nové Hrady Castle is a Neoclassical structure positioned on elevated ground with ornamental details adorning its facade and tall windows. The building overlooks an English landscape park and displays the balanced proportions typical of its architectural period.

The castle was constructed in 1792 and reflects French architectural influences of that era. Over the decades it underwent various modifications while its original building structure remained largely intact.

The castle displays exhibitions from the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague with furniture collections spanning from the Baroque period to Cubism. Visitors can trace design evolution across multiple centuries through these carefully curated pieces.

The site is accessible from a designated parking area approximately 100 meters away, connected by a marked path alongside the main street. Access is clearly marked and straightforward to locate.

The castle houses the first Czech museum of cycling with an extensive collection of historical bicycles and related equipment. This specialized collection documents the history of bicycle development in Central Europe.
