The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary features a three-aisle Romanesque basilica core with Gothic transept elements extending through its structure.
The church construction began during the third quarter of the 12th century and underwent substantial Gothic reconstruction between 1258 and 1263.
The interior contains frescoes depicting the life of St. Norbert, painted by Vilém Neuenherz in 1743, alongside ten side altars by Josef Lauermann.

The Chapel of Virgin Mary of Passau within the church displays a fresco depicting the Battle of Lützen, commemorating imperial general Pappenheim.
