Kostel svatého Štěpána, Former medieval church in Těchnice, Czech Republic.
Saint Stephen Church is a former medieval parish church now submerged beneath the Orlík reservoir. The building retains its presbytery space with ribbed vault structure, though the main nave and upper portions have been lost to submersion.
The church was built during the medieval period and served the community until the end of 1957. When the Orlík reservoir was constructed, the building lost its upper structures and became submerged underwater.
The main altar, dating from 1660, displayed the coat of arms of the Bukovsky family and contained bells from 1432 and 1605.
The building lies roughly 40 to 50 meters below the water surface at normal water levels. Visiting requires joining a specialized diving expedition and having proper diving certification.
Divers located and rediscovered the submerged church in 2000 using historical cadastral maps and surveying tools. This discovery transformed the sunken site into a destination for underwater exploration and modern diving adventures.
