Kolin water tower

The Kolín water tower is an industrial building beside the railway station with a distinctive cylindrical form made of concrete and metal. The structure was part of the system that supplied water to the railway operations.

The structure was built in the 1930s to supply water to locomotives at the station. It relied on a deep well system connected to the Elbe River.

The original pump system operated by hand and drew water from a very deep well beneath the structure. This manual system was typical for railway infrastructure of that era.
