The Church of Saints Peter and Paul stands in the center of Štěpánov nad Svratkou with a distinctive bell tower and iron cross by its entrance. The building displays Cubist architectural elements from its 1920s reconstruction.

The original church likely dates from the 13th century and was rebuilt in 1666, 1744 and 1845. Its tower burned in 1871 and was soon restored. On 20 September 1917 a fire from a nearby house engulfed the church, leaving only bare walls; reconstruction began in 1923 and the restored church was consecrated on 16 November 1924 by Brno bishop Josef Kupka.

The church is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, whose image hangs on the main altar. The walls are decorated with several statues of saints and a painted Stations of the Cross. A wooden mission cross from 1999 hangs at the entrance.

The church stands near the middle of the village, close to the office of the market town (městys). A separate bell tower with a cast-iron cross stands beside it, and a wooden mission cross from 1999 hangs at the entrance. The 18th-century parish house, a cast-iron cross from 1761 and a 1925 war memorial are nearby.

The church's Cubist forms date from the 1923–1924 reconstruction after the 1917 fire, which left only bare walls and destroyed nearly all furnishings, bells included. It was consecrated on 16 November 1924 by Brno bishop Josef Kupka. A wooden mission cross from 1999 hangs at the entrance.
