Hardtmuthova vila

Hardtmuthova vila is a baroque revival villa in České Budějovice that now operates as a House of Children and Youth. The L-shaped building features a mansard roof, an east-facing front with a terrace, and a winter garden section on its southern side.

Built in 1911 following Arnold Goldberger's design by architect Johann Stepan, the villa originally served as a residence for the von Hardtmuth family. Its construction reflected the period when the city was modernizing its architecture through residences built by prosperous families.

The grand entrance hall showcases detailed stucco work and fine woodcarving that reflects how wealthy families valued artistic craftsmanship in their homes. These decorative elements reveal the aesthetic standards that owners wanted to display to visitors and guests.
