Zámek Nalžovice

Zámek Nalžovice is an early Baroque château in the Central Bohemian Region with architectural features from multiple construction periods. The building combines original design elements with modifications that were added over successive centuries.

The château was built during the early Baroque period and received major modifications in the 18th and 19th centuries. These changes show how the architectural preferences of its owners shifted with each generation.

The residence shows how noble families shifted from building fortified strongholds to creating comfortable manor houses for daily life. This transformation reflects the changing needs and tastes of the Czech gentry over time.

The location is roughly 25 kilometers east of Příbram and about 35 kilometers south of Prague, making it fairly accessible by car. Keep in mind that the building currently operates as a residential facility, so visitor access may be limited.

The village name comes from the old form Nelžovice, which means 'village of honest people' in Czech. This naming tradition reflects how early settlements in the region were identified.
