Vila Dóry Němcové is an Art Nouveau residence in Holínské Předměstí with notable architectural features. The building displays a baroque mansard roof, a polygonal winter garden, and two prominent buttress-shaped projections on its richly decorated facade.
The house was built in 1910 after Theodora Němcová, daughter of writer Božena Němcová, acquired the land in 1894. Renowned architect Dušan Jurkovič was commissioned to design the building.
The house combines European Art Nouveau with elements of traditional folk architecture and influences from the English Arts and Crafts movement. This blend shapes its appearance and makes the architectural style clearly recognizable.
The villa is located at Maršála Koněva 150 in Jičín and is easy to view from outside. The house underwent interior renovations in 1938 that included a new staircase and office spaces.
The property features a distinctive fence made of sandstone blocks with brick pillars crowned by pitched roofs and green wooden panels. This carefully designed boundary adds considerably to the overall impression of the villa.
