Vila Dóry Němcové, Art Nouveau villa in Holínské Předměstí, Czech Republic

Vila Dóry Němcové is an Art Nouveau residence in Holínské Předměstí with notable architectural features. The building displays a baroque mansard roof, a polygonal winter garden, and two prominent buttress-shaped projections on its richly decorated facade.

Theodora Němcová bought the plot on the edge of Jičín in 1894 for 2,200 gulden. In 1908 she sold six parcels to finance the villa, built in 1910 by builder František Mošna from a simplified design by Dušan Jurkovič. After her death in 1920 the house changed owners; in 1935 professor Miloslav Dušek bought it and renovated it until 1938. It was listed as a cultural monument in 1964.

The house combines European Art Nouveau with elements of traditional folk architecture and influences from the English Arts and Crafts movement. This blend shapes its appearance and makes the architectural style clearly recognizable.

The villa stands at Maršála Koněva 150 in Jičín, on the Holínské Předměstí side north of the old town, and can be viewed from the street. The 1935–1938 reconstruction by Miloslav Dušek moved the entrance from the south to the north side and added a balcony in the south facade. The building is privately owned by Dušek's descendants and is not open to the public.

The villa's first owner, Theodora Němcová, was a daughter of the writer Božena Němcová. She bought the plot on the edge of Jičín in 1894 for 2,200 gold coins, and in 1908 sold six parcels of it as building plots to finance the house.
