Church of the Ascension of Christ, Pseudo-Romanesque church in Stará Role, Czech Republic.
The Church of the Ascension of Christ features a prismatic tower and an apse constructed with glazed brick, following the architectural principles of its time.
The building replaced a small municipal chapel from 1823, with construction completed in 1908 under architect Hermann Fiedler and builder Alois Sichert's supervision.
The interior contains notable figural decorations by local painter Karl Lehninger depicting scenes of Christ's birth and resurrection across the walls.
Located on Závodu Míru Street, the church maintains regular religious services and opens its belfry to visitors during specific cultural events.
Initially named the Jubilee Church of Emperor Franz Joseph, the building received consecration from Prague Archbishop and Cardinal Lev Skrbenský.
