The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Klecany is a Gothic-origin parish church rebuilt in Baroque form in 1748–1749 and given a Neo-Renaissance appearance in 1889–1892. It stands in the northern part of the village near the Klecany chateau. Two statues stand before the church grounds: a column with a statue of St. Wenceslas from the second half of the 17th century, moved here in 1896 from nearby Přemyšlení, and a Baroque statue of St. John of Nepomuk from the first quarter of the 18th century.

The church is originally a 14th-century Gothic building, badly damaged in the Thirty Years' War. It was rebuilt in Baroque form in 1748–1749 and remodelled in Neo-Renaissance style between 1889 and 1892. From 1876 to 1884 the writer Václav Beneš Třebízský served here as chaplain; two monuments, by Josef Václav Myslbek (1894) and Ladislav Šaloun (1898), and a memorial hall in the rectory recall his stay. The parish was dissolved on 1 January 2006 and attached to Odolena Voda.

The original interior decoration was stolen over time and replaced by modern copies.

The church stands in the northern part of Klecany, next to the local chateau. Two statues mark the approach: a column with a statue of St. Wenceslas, moved here in 1896 from nearby Přemyšlení, and a Baroque statue of St. John of Nepomuk from the first quarter of the 18th century.
